Our Interventions

Positive Care Solutions offers a range of support interventions.

All interventions are tailored to individual service users following an initial assessment and the formulation of a bespoke plan for targeted support and intervention.

Therapeutic Support Intervention

Designed to reduce the need for high-risk interventions for service users in crisis, our Therapeutic Support Programme aims to build a secure foundation for support and early intervention. Within this framework, our counsellors, mentors, therapists and other mental health professionals are able to work with services users in crisis to help them regulate and remodel their social, physical, emotional and psychological behaviours and move towards positive change.

Extreme Behaviour Intervention

Aimed at service users aged 11-25, our Extreme Behaviour Programme is designed to tackle the root causes and challenge the underlying negative thoughts these young people have about themselves and the world. This begins with a comprehensive assessment and investigation to identify the causes, triggers and presentations of extreme behaviour, before embarking on a multi-faceted package of targeted support and interventions.

Family Counselling Intervention

Our Family Counselling Intervention is designed to reduce conflict within the home by supporting and developing increased stability, understanding and positive relationships. Our highly skilled and experienced therapeutic teams work with families to promote stability and understandings, helping them work through their difficulties to come up with a positive plan of action. Drawing on the wide specialisms of our teams, we aim to support families by enhancing parenting skills and equipping individual family members with the tools and techniques they need to be able to regulate their own feelings and emotions, resolve conflict and improve stability within the home.

We can also provide support through the following alternative therapies:

Jikiden Reiki

This treatment is designed to tackle unhelpful thought and behaviour patterns and help service users overcome bad habits. Anger and lack of confidence can be effectively treated with Jikiden Reiki, which promotes natural healing and general wellbeing.

Mindfulness

Using breathing techniques, guided imagery and other relaxation methods to aid meditation, mindfulness aims to provide a safe and non-judgemental space for service users to reconnect with their bodies and emotions.

Relaxation

Our relaxation sessions are aimed at promoting harmony within residential settings and can be delivered on a 1:1 basis, or in sessions that include the young people and the adults who work with them.

Art Therapy

Our specialist therapeutic practitioners encourage young people to express themselves and their creative sides through art, while encouraging them to talk about the traumas they have experienced and challenges they are facing.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy sessions can be tailored to the individual’s needs but commonly promote wellbeing, aid relaxation and target unhelpful thought patterns. Our therapists can also work with young people to help them identify, set and begin working towards their desired goals.

Animal Assisted Therapy

Our specialist therapist will conduct sessions with a Therapy Animal in attendance. This eliminates the feeling of discomfort from traditional 1-1 therapy sessions in a counselling room and allows the therapist to help children, young people and adults to explore specific difficulties they may be experiencing around feelings that could be impacting on their emotional wellbeing, family, relationships, and other aspects within our therapeutic model.
